Founder interview: Capucine Codron on RTT, cravings, and the hidden cause of burnout in entrepreneurs (Hint: It’s not workload)

I sat down with Cap, a hypnotherapist and RTT therapist, to talk about what RTT actually is, why willpower alone does not cut it, what burnout looks like before it knocks you flat, and the two daily affirmations she uses to stay sane.

This is a trasncript from a video interview with Cap, catch the video on my YouTube Channel @23wisewords.

What is RTT, and how is it different to hypnotherapy?

Cap: Rapid transformational therapy is actually a very new, innovative method… created like less than 30 years ago. And it mixes hypnotherapy and psychology… we mix both inside an hypnotherapy session… around two hour sessions… that allows to have much faster results.

When I work with a client on self-confidence, it's probably gonna be just two sessions… emotional eating, it might be just one session… really fast results.

Q: Can you do “just hypnotherapy” without RTT?

Elle: What would you do if someone said, I just want the hypnotherapy and not the RT side of it?

Cap: I've done it in the past for people who wanted to stop smoking… however, I don't personally, I don't do it anymore… I'm actually seeing less good results… a lot of hypnotherapist will end up doing some stuff from RTT… going back to the root cause… you want to understand where that come from so you can rewire the mind around this… I could, but I just don't want to because it provides less good results.

Q: So willpower is not enough?

Elle: You said… you have to go to the root cause… it can't just be willpower alone.

Cap: Willpower actually doesn't work… it's one element that's important… however, if you only reflect on the future on what's good for you, but you don't understand why you've been doing it… you might actually go back into the pattern.

I had a client recently… emotional eating… she never understood why she absolutely had to eat chocolate that night in front of tv… she told me, “I have zero willpower.” And I'm like, “of course you have willpower because you're in front of me right now.”

The root cause… when she was really young… the only connection and loving time she had with her dad… was when he brought a chocolate piece to her… she made that connection… chocolate equals love and support… in her subconscious mind, that was her way… to give herself some love and support… the moment we understood that… she told me… “I actually don't need that chocolate to love myself.”

She was like, “I'm gonna make myself a really nice glass of water with strawberries and cucumber in it… an awesome treat”… she texted me… “it works wonderfully.”

Q: Do you need a big trauma for habits like this?

Elle: It might not be triggered from a traumatic event… it could just be learned behaviour…

Cap: You don't need a big trauma to have these habits… it comes back to noticing those habits and rewiring under hypnotherapy… it’s very simple… but it’s like, do you also want to rewire that?

Do you actually need to stop eating these biscuits if you just eat one every evening that makes you happy? It’s about figuring out what do you actually want to change… you don't have to do it alone… I'm very against diets… diets… is actually completely wrong because you just restrain yourself… and then after a few months you haven't changed the root cause… when you change that, it's way better.

Q: What is Holorise, and why did you create it?

Elle: Tell me about the other side of your business… Holorise… how do you say?

Cap: I started in business… graduated in finance, worked in management consulting and in tech… I had my own tech company in London… and throughout that I burned out three times… at some point I told myself… maybe to burn out three times… it has nothing to do with the job… so I started looking at myself… discovered… depression for 10 years that I never treated…

I did RTT on myself… therapy is amazing… the conscious mind, not the subconscious… I tried RTT and I was like, “don't people know about this?”

At the same time I was training to become a burnout coach for entrepreneurs… I built two practices… then I started having a lot of entrepreneurs as clients… they kept telling me… “you're giving me burnout tips… a morning routine… but then I'm talking to my nutritionist… my PT… my business coach… all your plans… they don't go together… it’s hard to follow four different plans…”

So with my co-founder… a holistic health coach… we decided to create Holorise… 360 plans… one unique plan that actually works for them… so they don't spend four hours per week on calls with experts… every week we decide whether they should talk to my co-founder or me… holistic health or mindset or stress management… to simplify the life of our clients.

Q: What was your wisest “yes” in 2025?

Elle: Has there been anything that you've said yes to… that you'll look back and you're like, I'm really glad I did that?

Cap: At the beginning of 2025, I got the opportunity to deepen my expertise into RTT… to go much deeper into depression, traumatic work… I had to go back full time to study…

It was really hard… I decided to take a break from my coaching practice, stop developing the business… it was going so well… I was super scared… “am I making the right business decision?”… but I don't regret it… best… I added so much to my toolbox… now I can mix coaching and RTT within the same session… it’s so powerful… no regret.

But… it was scary… to say no to all the revenues… and tighten the financial belt… there was a lot of doubt for like seven weeks… now I know.

Q: How do you spot burnout before it gets bad?

Elle: People don’t always recognise it until it’s too late… how do you explain the signs?

Cap: Most of my clients… they are deep in burnout when they come to me… I wish clients would come to me before… it’s so much quicker to recover when you're just at the beginning…

If you spend more than two weeks exhausted, not feeling like you're really yourself and having decision fatigue… more than two weeks like this without having better days, it's already your first sign…

After that is physical signs… the most common is stomach ache and headaches… if you're having headaches days per week… it means you're pushing yourself too much… stomach ache… if your body starts reacting… it means you already reached your threshold.

Often… people end up in burnout because of a mix of two things:

  1. they’re not happy in the now… so focused on the next step… they forget to take care of themselves

  2. they lost their why… what is it giving you and why are you doing it?

Q: Burnout feels like an underestimated word. Do you agree?

Elle: The name almost downplays the severity…

Cap: Completely… I put them on a scale of zero to five… you can be in a very deep burnout… my last burnout… took me almost a year to recover… my first burnout took me two weeks… I kind of wish there were like two names… deep burnout and an intermediary name.

Q: What wise words help you not go there again?

Elle: Is there a mantra or anything you live by?

Cap: I have two mantras… two affirmations I tell myself every morning… when I brush my teeth… I tell myself, “today's gonna be an amazing day.”… I visualize every block of my day… what’s the best outcome…

The second… “I know that I'm giving the best I can every single day. And that's enough.”… I don't have to be perfect… I'm just gonna be myself and give the best that I can because my goal is to help people.

Elle: Habit stacking is the best.

Cap: Completely.

Q: Where can people find you?

Elle: If somebody wants to find out more… where should they go?

Cap: On our website… Holorise.co… also… they can always book a free discovery call with us… with me or my co-founder… book a discovery call. I'm happy to help in this 30 minutes.
